We meet heroes everyday, great and small, and often in the most unexpected situations.

Message To: Mick - tractor driver

Date: 18-01-2018

Place: A snowy road near Alston

What a hero, thanks to Mick we didn't have to spend all night stuck in a ditch in the snow. Thanks Mick for coming along and towing our car out of the ditch and back onto the road. The snow was so deep we'd have probably frozen to death trying to dig ourselves out or walking for help. You were great - thank you so much for coming along just at that moment and stopping to help us.

Message To: Gemma who saved my little girl's life

Date: 12-01-2018

Place: Cafe in Low Fell

Words are not enough to thank the woman whose quick thinking saved my little girl's life last week. My parents took her to a cafe for lunch and she was sitting in a high chair when she started to choke. Someone called Gemma realised how serious it was, grabbed her out of the chair, held her upside down and hit her on the back until she started to breathe again. I'm still in shock and can't get it out of my mind. I just want to thank Gemma so much for saving my little girl's life xxx

The kindness of strangers never ceases to amaze me. I travel alone but I'm never lonely, as people everywhere have stories to tell and share, and the kindest people always show up when I need them.
