Me and my friend Louise decided to go hitchhiking, and reached the Isle of Wight in one day. The youth hostel was full, and too cold to sleep on the beach. We had to spend all our money on a B&B. So we had to hitchhike back to Middlesbro the next day. We saved all the toast from breakfast for the journey then walked to the main road to hitch. We told our sad story to one of the lorry drivers who picked us up. He insisted on buying us lunch at a truck stop. Thank you, after all these years!
