I was a 16 year old schoolboy with no money to go on the school expedition. I was told by my teachers that a former student whose own children had grown up wanted to help a student who didn't have the funds to go on this expedition. Somehow I was lucky enough to be chosen. Mr Haveron helped with the cost of the project, and even gave money for me to get the right gear and equipment. I now work in engineering overseas and would love to thank him for his huge encouragement and generosity.
